5 Top Tips for Self-Care

Valentine's Day is all about love and romance. Whether you are single or in a relationship, the most important relationship of your life, is the one you have with yourself. In our hustle and bustle of our day-to-day life, it is easy to forget yourself and neglect your wellbeing. Valentine's Day is the perfect time to pause, reflect, and give yourself some much-needed celebration, and maybe even introduce a new self-care routine?

Here are some ideas for self-care:

1. Take Time for Yourself
Take some time for yourself, away from family, kids, work and don't feel bad about it! It is so important to have some me time, to do whatever makes you happy. Read that book you've been meaning to start! Have a relaxing bath with candles! Treat yourself to some seaweed crisps and and put your feet up!

2. Massage and Aromatherapy
Now, we all deserve a boujee treat every once in a while, so why not treat yourself to a massage. Massage has many benefits. It can help with circulation, detoxing, and increased relaxation - we all want some of those zen vibes in our lives! It can help reduce pain and any muscle soreness you may have. Combine this with some aromatherapy to promote health and well-being further. Treat yourself to some essential oils in your living room - the epitome of self-care!

3. Stretching
Another way to relax and balance your body is stretching. Not only does it improve your flexibility, it also can help ease anxiety. Incorporating 10 minutes of stretching into your daily routine can help reduce stress and improve sleep. Here are some of our top 3 stretches: child pose, which gently stretches your spine, thighs, hips, and ankles. Cat/cow pose, which increases the flexibility of the neck, shoulders, and spine. Finally, the cobra stretch helps relieve stress and fatigue and opens the heart and lungs.

4. Prioritise Sleep
Create a schedule that prioritises regular and sufficient amount of sleep. Work and personal obligations can be time consuming but being fully rested will increase your productivity during the day and can fuel you to get more done. Regular bedtime and wake time are important, and most adults require between 7 to 9 hours of sleep.

5. Nutrition
What we are putting into our body makes a huge impact on our wellbeing. Take the time to cook yourself a healthy delicious meal, packed with fresh vegetables, and your body will thank you later. Our blog is full of lots of recipe inspiration, which you can find here.
