Christmas Baking With Jujube Fruits
The baking season is in full swing with only 40 days until Christmas. Add a healthy twist to your Christmas baking this year with jujube fruits. They make a great natural sweetener and are packed with good nutrients. You can use them in a similar way to raisins, dried apples, or dried cranberries, and they are suitable for any bakes and desserts, for examples:
- Biscuits and cookies
- Mince pies
- Flap jacks
A few tips for using the jujube in baking:
- Soak the whole pitted fruit in hot water for 10 minutes to rehydrate them and to bring out the sweetness more.
- Alternatively, you could soak them for longer until they are very soft, then puree the fruit and add it to your mix.
- You can also use the whole jujube fruit or the jujube crisps as a fun decoration.
- If you love porridge: Try the jujube crunchy sprinkles as a lovely topping
